Toys and Games Reviews of Fisher-Price Dora the Explorer My Talking BackpackCustomer Review: COMPLETE waste of Money Summary: 1 Stars
Let me preface this with - My 2 1/2 year old daughter is a HUGE Dora fan. She loves anything Dora. We opened the "Backpack" less than 15 minutes ago, she is no longer playing with it, and she has been completely frustrated and disappointed and I wish I had never let her see this useless toy. May I also say that I have NEVER written an online review before but I just can't help but want to vent over this and warn other people not to buy this toy.
1. This is not a backpack. That's weird, there is no way to attach the "backpack" to my daughter's back.
2. Even with the tiny hands of a two year old, it is nearly impossible for her to retrieve items out of her "backpack", the opening is way too small.
3. She can't even carry the "backpack" by the top handle because the latch doesn't support the weight of "backpack" How is it that they didn't catch that glitch before they went to production??????
As I write this, here are the comments I have heard from my daughter "Mommy, we can give this to some other children", "Mommy, this is broken". "Mommy, can we get me a new backpack?" Ouch, I just asked her if she likes her new backpack and she said "I don't want it, when I walk with it, it gets broken, I want to give it to someone else, because it doesn't fit me, it keeps opening" She is actually packing it back up in the box, she wants to "send it back." Only nice thing about it is that she has enjoyed singing the backpack song.....
Description of Fisher-Price Dora the Explorer My Talking BackpackEquip your young explorer for her next imaginative adventure. This Talking Backpack accompanies little Dora fans on all their fun-filled journeys. Just press the Backpack's mouth to hear it sing and talk. Plus, it's loaded with tons of great supplies. Includes a play camera, compass, map and magnifying glass. Measures approximately 6.5" x 3.5" x 8". Requires 3 "button-cell" batteries (included). Dora the Explorer would never think of setting out on an expedition without her trusty backpack, and chances are that any kid who gets hold of this hard-plastic backpack will feel the same. It features the same cheerful expression and, at the press of a button, it says one of four different upbeat lines or sings the "Backpack Song," which chances are your child already knows by heart. The sound is awfully loud, so parents may wish to have an artfully arranged piece of tape ready for muting purposes. Rounding out the ensemble are a camera, magnifying glass, and binoculars. While none of these accessories actually work, like the backpack in which they all fit, they're quite charming. --Charlie Williams
