I bought this toy after considering the 5 in 1 by Little Tikes. I had read a lot of negative reviews about babies kicking the 5 in 1 gym away from them while using the kick bar. My 10 week old LOVES to kick, so I kept searching. This toy is perfect for him! Although the picture shows the baby under the gym playing with the toys with his hands, I positioned my son so that he could kick it instead and he was in heaven. He loved to see the piano light up and play music when he kicked the toys. Plus it has a volume control with a soft mode (something the 5 in 1 lacked). I have no idea if he will like the other 2 modes as he grows older, but regardless, it is worth the $45. He stayed under it for 45 minutes last night, had a ball and the toy never moved! At first, we bought the Elmo Peek-a-boo gym for our 10 week old son. Since that didn't work out, we were on a hunt for a replacement. We scoured Amazon for some suggestions and this product is one were going to try out. So, we went to Babies-R-Us and purchased this gym.
It was love at first site. Our baby loved this gym. He gets so excited whenever we let him play with it. We all love how the hanging toys are easy to grab for him, especially for a baby who is now just gaining control of his hands. The hanging toys are sensitive enough, that when rocked, it triggers the lights and makes a special "chime" noise.
Overall, I think this is a great buy and hopefully should last us a long time. This toy turns into a little rocking horsy for later enjoyment.

We got this for our son when he was about 3-4 months old, hoping to entertain him for a while. We really don't like the music on this toy. The music (all 3 settings) has an incessant reggae beat, which makes it hard to recognize any of the songs. Then, on setting 3 (the "piano mode")the "ad copy" makes it seem like the child can just press the keys & play, which isn't true. There is an underlying (very loud!) music playing which is very distracting. My son was also able to pull this toy on top of himself, and to pull the hanging toys off the hangers. Now that he is almost 10 months, he does enjoy rocking on the rocking feature, but I'm still disappointed that Fisher-Price couldn't have designed the piano more sensibly.Customer Review: A Rockin' Good Time

Fisher Price does it again. A wonderful toy that transitions from infancy to toddlerhood. I purchased this for my [...] infant. She loves to lay under it and look at the lights. At 3 months she kicked at the toys with her feet and enjoyed the show!!! Now at 4 months she can bat at the toys with her hands to activate the music. She also loves to pull the toys off and use as teething rings. My other [...] daughter loves to use this when converted to the rocking horse. The piano is also removeable to take anywhere. It is durable and entertaining. It is also very easy to assemble. A great toy for any child from birth to age [...] Well worth Review: Fun for a while...Summary: 3 Stars My daughter got a lot of use out of this when she was 3-4m old, the lights and hanging toys kept her attention long enough for me to take a shower. Now that she is almost 6m old she has gotten kind of bored with it and is more intersted in rolling around than playing with it. I will see how she likes it when she can sit up and use the piano part by itself, and then use it like a rocking toy. There seems to be a bit of a gap between phases of this toy when she is bored with one stage and not quite ready for the next. The quality is good though and I don't doubt it will last through all the stages.
