This train is adorable - but my baby (8 months) only plays with it for a couple of minutes at a time. I guess that is how they are at that age, though! Thankfully it has volume control or it could be a very annoying tune. My 5-year-old loves it. She puts all her Scooby-doo figures and whatever Barbie-type toy needs a ride, piles 'em in and says "the train is leaving!" and they all go for a ride across the house. You press the smoke-stack and the train drives itself a pretty good distance. It seems to stop running if it hits something. So, it can be fun for all ages!Customer Review: Durable and lots of fun

The price must be listed incorrectly. I paid around $29.99 (on sale at Target) and it included the zebra too. My 9-mo old loves this train - she's played with it more than most toys she got for Christmas. Tha train has moveable parts and the animals have fun clicky parts and rubbery chewy parts too. She loves to chase after the train (also has a button so it won't move). My almost 3 year old loves playing with it too (more than the baby) so I know it's something she'll grow with. For the price I paid, it was one of the best buys we purchased this Christmas.Customer Review: The Song Will Drive You Nuts

My son never really got into this toy, which is ironic because he got like three of them for Christmas from various relatives, two of which we took back. He was only 6 months then, but is a year now and still doesn't really care about it. Maybe it's better for older kids as others have mentioned. The song it plays is nauseating at best. What is it with the voices on kids toys? Why is it a rule that if it is for a kid the voice has to be sickeningly obnoxious? My son likes soothing, normal sounding voices. My 1-year-old son received this toy for Christmas and he still loves playing with it. I would say it is one of the cutest toys for toddlers on the market right now (being that Fisher-Price has been my favorite brand for toys). Very educational, it gives the kids the sense of rhythm, all of the animals have moving parts. I do not agree with other reviewers saying that music will drive you crazy. It is actually much nicer than all of the other musical toys we have at home.
I would highly recommend this one for 1-year-old and up!!! Great toy!

This is an excellent toy for babies 6 months and older. It is very durable and well made. The animals are a bit heavy for younger babies but they will last a long time. I didn't notice any trouble with it moving on carpet, but I will say that it does take a long time to start moving. You have to wait for it to play a song before it will start to move. You can also buy additional cars and animals to add to the train set. My son loves to play with it and throw it across the room. It stills works great after all the abuse that he has inflicted upon it.
