Customer Review: Fun & Creative...but better packaging please!

My 8 year old daughter is very creative...always drawing, coloring, creating etc. I thought this would be a perfect fit and I was right. I got it for her for Christmas and while it sat by the wayside for a few weeks while she was glued to some of her flashier presents, when she did finally get around to opening it, she was hooked. The dolls are adorable and there seem to plenty of sheets on the pad for now...lots of colors to choose from, both pencils and markers, tons of templates for various outfits and a guide book for ideas, although some of the fabric techiques are too time-consuming or diffcult for her to mess with. My main gripe is the packaging. The pencils/markers are in a plastic grooved holder that is attached to the front cover..the type that should snap securely to hold everything in place. It doesn't. In order to keep them from flying everywhere she has to remember to flip the book over first and open in backwards...which, of course, she doesn't remember to do every time. Not that big of a deal since we can get them their own pouch for storage etc, but it kind of defeats the purpose of have a self-inclusive toy for travel purposes etc. Same deal with the templates..they are adorable and there are a ton of them, but no feasible place for storage. The pouch that is provided is not big enough. Otherwise, this is a fabulous toy for any creative little girl!
