I always had sea monkeys as a kid, so when I saw them in the store, I could not resist picking some up for my animal-crazy 4 year old.
I had forgotten the 36 hours you have to wait, and since my son does not have a whole lot of patience- it was not an immediate hit.
However these little creatures quickly grew, and now Im almost more amused by these little shrimp then my children. (and yes I know they are just Brine shrimp, Thank You)
It was still a great science project for a four year old and his mom, and it added a nice dose of nostalgia to my day.

This has to be one of the greatest inventions ever! Now you can see and watch your sea-monkeys in the dark. Sure they start out kinda small, but wait untill they grow. They were more successful then I thought they would be. This is a great tank for the beginners.Now some tips for the new people. ALWAYS wait 24 after putting in the water purifer before you put in the instant eggs. TRY to aireate the tank every 5 days. BE SURE TO feed them every week. NEVER put all of the food in the packet at once. And ABSOULTLY, the most IMPORTANT THING OF ALL......HAVE FUN!!!!!

I adopted the Sea Monkey family as an office pet. (I always wanted them as a kid, but my mother was not having any ordering off the back of Archie comics!!!) They provided great entertainment for myself and my office neighbors. Then after about three months a new family of GREEN slimy MOSS moved in and killed off the Sea Monkeys. This is a fun purchase for disposable office entertainment. Obviously this would be fun for kids to play scientist with, the brochre that comes with it actually relates the whole project to a scientific experiment.Customer Review: You need to be as serious as can be to own sea-monkeys...

Sea-monkeys are cool, and this set is also cool, but to own sea-monkeys, you need to be very serious about it, you need to care for them always, and if you forget to feed them once, or oxygenate them, or even the tiniest thing, they can die, this has happened with my sister and I for the second time, and this time they died after five days! So, I guess before you buy this set, you should be willing to take full responsibility for your little aquatic pets, perhaps make a schedule for feeding, oxygenating, etc. for your pets. I am 19 years old and I work with pre-school aged children. I bought a sea monkey kit a few weeks ago and took it into work. Not only are the children interested but my cowokers and the parents are also. I wasn't sure if they would live, but I have had them for two weeks now and they are growing and seem to be just fine. I would recommend sea monkeys to anyone who is interested in something that is amasing to watch. Most children love these kinds of things. When my monkeys die, I will go and buy more eggs and start again.
