Toys and Games Reviews of Target Card GameCustomer Review: excellent game for two players Summary: 5 Stars
More often than not, my wife and I usually end up playing games with one another as opposed to a larger group of people. Some games that we buy end up being much more fun with friends and family, but are of only limited interest for two players. Target is NOT one of those games...it works beautifully for two people. In addition, it has several other fantastic advantages over many other games:
- you can remove "target" cards if you'd like to control the length of the game (just take some out if you want a shorter game)
- you are never really "out" of the game, even if you seem to be trailing
- it is very, very easy to learn and remember the rules
- it makes you think and strategize, but not due to complicated rules
- it is very travel-friendly, consisting of just a deck of cards
Like other reviewers here, I love the game and can't recommend it enough. It's our "go to" game whenever we have half an hour to relax with a game.
Customer Review: Fun game Summary: 4 Stars
I wanted this game because I'm always looking for card games that are fun with two people... or with a whole group. Target is just that.Other reviews talked about what the game is, so I'll just tell my opinions. Sometimes the game gets a little boring with only two people. It seems like you're just picking up cards and discarding and not ever getting the right cards to match a target. It was a lot of fun with four people though, and we even had six playing at once. As for educational value, i rate it very highly. Its a good game for teaching kids to watch for details and plan ahead. My cousin Tyler played it with us, he's 10 I think. He needed some help at first, but then he started matching sets by himself. The best part was when my cousin Shannon took ALL FIVE target cards in one turn! We were quite mad at her for that trick!
Customer Review: A lot of fun Summary: 5 Stars
I got this game for my mom's birthday. She's a game nut, and it seems like each time I see her she has a new game to try out. This one is especially fun because it's simple to understand (there's not much referring to the rules to figure out what you're supposed to be doing) and it's really fast-paced. I hate spending half my time playing a game waiting for someone to take their turn. There's none of that with Target. It's fun, and the action constantly changes. I recommend the game to anyone tired of the typical card game.
Customer Review: Easy to learn card game Summary: 4 Stars
I played four games of Target with my spouse in the day since it arrived and both of us really enjoy it. The game is easy to learn and absorbing. Each game takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. You score points by completing melds according to directions given on the target cards; those directions are clear. The melds resemble poker hands more than rummy melds, in my opinion. Figuring out which melds to aim for is pretty absorbing and challenging.
I recommend it as a good strategy card game for two players.
Customer Review: kid fun too Summary: 5 Stars
This game is a step above the card game Kaboodle from the makers of Uno. As my sons (6 & 8) had learned that card game prior, they were able to catch onto this Target game. With a little help, even a novice (with some card game knowledge) can win the game and feel good enough to play again and again. I can get somewhat strategic, and each game plays out a little different. It's not alot of laughs as everyone is concentrating so much and trying to plan their strategy! I appreciated the other reviews. THANKS!
