Toys and Games Reviews of Password - New 5th EditionCustomer Review: Try it! You'll Like It! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a classic! It's simple to play, but difficult to master. You and your opponent take turns giving your partner one word to try and get him or her to say the Password, with the point value decreasing for each clue given. Simple enough, right? Tons of fun. There's the great charge you get when you and your partner just seem to connect, and get the strangest words off of one clue. Good game for adults to play. Too difficult, probably, for most kids who are in junior high or younger because of their vocabulary. And the great thing about this game, is it's durable. As long as there's an English language, this game will be playable. (One thing, I don't like the plastic scoring clip you're supposed to slide along the box to keep track of the point value of each word. Milton Bradley used to use a scoring dial, which seems a little better. The clip may mark up your box too much if you're a collector.) Play the game, and you'll understand why so many big stars like Jimmy Stewart, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Bob Crane, Bob Denver, and Jack Benny clamored to appear on the TV show.
Description of Password - New 5th EditionNow you can play the at-home version of the game show classic-- and you don't have to lose on TV to get it! Teams of two players complete to see who's the fastest at guessing the secret password. Players can only give one-word clues, so you've got to be clever when you communicate! This fifth edition has been updated with new rules especially for three players (instead of only playing in pairs). Comes with cards, leatherette card holders, a scoring indicator and score pad. For 3 or more players, Ages 8+ Clues. Words. Lots of guessing. When you play Password, you'll have to bite your tongue because only one-word clues are allowed in this classic word-association game. Once a popular game show, this at-home version is played by two teams of at least two players each. A great game for both adults and kids, the more who play, the merrier. Guess the secret word quickly to earn the most points. The game cards offer lots of clues, but the clues can be decoded only one word at a time. The team with the highest score after 10 rounds wins. --Lynne Sampson
