I wasn't sure if this product would be good for my son's 11th birthday, but decided to go for it. He couldn't stop playing with it. This 500 project set had three books of "projects" for him to put together. Each project has easy to follow directions with a description of why it works. The science teacher at our middle school is requesting the PTA to purchase several of the smaller snap circuits sets for her science lab, so it must be good education.Customer Review: An Awesome Choice!!

We got this for our 8 year old son as a Christmas gift. He absolutely loved it!! There are a few manual issues, but nothing that interfered with his fun. He plays with it constantly and has created numerous items of his own creation. There were two parts that were bad right out of the box. Elenco replaced them promptly and he was still able to make tons of items even with the bad parts. We are actually looking into getting more items to go with it.Customer Review: Loved it

My son is 12 and this was high on his Christmas list. I was very happy that he was interested in this type of toy, he is mostly a sports and outdoorsy type of boy, but he does love chess/board games, etc. He has needed help from my husband. The next level down I thought would have been too easy, but maybe he could have mastered that on his own better. I would rate this a worthwhile toy if you are willing to spent some time with it as well.Customer Review: Excellent present

From my point of view the Snap Circuit kit is very well made and the snap technology is a rather ingenious way to connect all of the pieces. More importantly, we gave this to our son for Christmas and 3 months later he is still playing with the set several times a week working on "his next project". He has asked for a couple of the add-on sets for his 11th birthday next month. Definitely a good choice for the budding electrical engineers.Customer Review: This is fun, and it is accessible to young children.

My 8 year old and his 9 year old cousin loved this electronics kit. They have constructed dozens of the various bells, whistles, radio stations, sounds, lights, and other electronic projects listed with the kit.
This is accessible. Any kid can safely use this, and the kids learn from doing, about electronics and about making things with their hands.
I would highly recommend this for any young child.
