I debated whether or not to buy this product for my 13 yr. old son for Christmas. Alot of the reviews were for younger children and I was worried it was too "young" him. Well that was not the case! Although he just opened it yesterday morning he seems very interested in building the projects and has already made quite a few of them! My brother (a master electrician for 30 years)saw the toy last night and was very impressed. He is going to order one for his grandchildren (ages 12 and 10) because he thought it was so much fun!Customer Review: Always new and interesting

Snap Circuits PRO SC-500
Christmas present for my 10y.o. grandson. One month later he still plays with it every day after school. He has taught himself to read the instructions carefully so that the circuits he constructs will work. He also knows a great deal more now about components of electrical circuits and how electrical circuits work. This item is an excellent educational tool as well as an enjoyable "toy".

My son, age 7, already had the smaller Snap Circuits - I think it was the 100 projects set. He absolutely loved that one and asked for the bigger set for Xmas. This set is great. It has a lot of the same things that the smaller set has, just more of them & some new gadgets as well. It comes with 3 project books that show them how to create various things like lightbulbs coming on, an AM radio, different sounds, etc. It's very cool and it's easy for him to follow on his own & complete the projects.Customer Review: Great learning toy

Snap Circuits is a great learning toy. I bought it for a curious 6, soon to be 7, year old. He has enjoyed building many different projects. His 13-yr-old brother also has taken on building many projects. The box says 8 to 108, and my 85 year old uncle was also fascinated by it. We've had a number of friends and family "get-togethers" over the holidays, and during every one of these parties, someone has asked about favorite toys...Snap Circuits get pulled out and looked at with great interest.Customer Review: Bought for my nephew as a Christmas present

I bought this for my nephew for Christmas. My sister tells me that my (12 yo) has enjoyed many hours of putting differenct science experiments together. He is just that type of kid so this is probably not for all but if you have a child like that them they will probaby enjoy playing with something easy to build like what is contain in this kit.
I rated it high based on his mom's feedback and my newphews reaction and enjoyment in playing with this item.
