My ds (7) and dd (10) have had hours of fun making things with this kit. The only thing that I have found frustrating for them is the volume of the pieces. Once they get it put together to make the noise maker work, it is really quiet. You have to put your ear literally on the piece in order to hear it. I don't want it to be deafening either like some toys, but audible to the human ear would be nice. The instructions are easy for a 7 yo to read and decipher and he has made many impressive connections with the kit. I'm hoping he can translate that to real wires and connectors one day as he loves to take apart anything electronic that we will allow.Customer Review: Fun gift for all!

I bought this for my 10 yo son's birthday. He loves to tinker with things and figure out how things work. He had never seen one of these sets, but has had a blast with it. It's the present he never knew he wanted and he loves it. The other kids have had fun, too, and it's become a sibling activity to put these projects together. So far all of the projects in the book have worked fine...I saw reviews that said some of them were outdated, but I think they must have updated the project books. Even my 12 yo daughter and 40+ husband have fun with this set!! We may have to add to it after the 500 projects are done!Customer Review: A great toy!!

I purchased this for my son's 10th birthday! He had never seen it before but loves Lego's and had a great time with an electronics unit that he did in school. He has spent so many hours building various things. He is asking for more for Christmas and is not even halfway through all of the projects. He is figuring out how to create his own designs. My only wish is that there was a clear explanation as to how each of the pieces work (I know very little about electronics) but he wants to understand it. Definately a GREAT buy!! When my child first asked for this "toy" for Christmas, I was stumped because I had never heard of such a thing. I was able to find the item here on Amazon. Even though the item seemed pricey at first, I went ahead and ordered it so I could fulfill my child's wish. As I watched him construct circuit after circuit and project after project, I realized that he was not only having fun, he was also learning a great deal about what makes the everyday electronics in our lives tick. The smile on his face made it worth every penny, and the knowledge he is gaining is priceless.Customer Review: Very Educational

I bought this for my son's 9th birthday after we noticed a friend of his had a smaller version of this product. (the SC-300, I think)
The product arrived with a little damage to the box top surface, but all parts inside were in good condition.
There are A LOT of projects that any kid over 8 would love to make.
It is a good parent/child inter-action toy that never gets old and boring.
The projects start easy and become more complicated in size and scope.
My son loves playing with it and it is now one of his favorites.
