This is the type of toy that every parent loves! It is fun AND educational. My 6 year old son, loved it because it has real world projects (a light switch, a flying saucer toy, a doorbell, etc.) which he "built" himself. Each project takes about 5-10 minutes to put together and the instruction manual is VERY clear and easy to understand. It even expains the logic behind the projects (which he will probably understand a bit better when he is a bit older). I helped him with the first project and explained how to read the diagram in the manual. He took it from there and was building projects on his own. This toy is worth every penny! We have this 100 project, so I'd imagine that the 300 and 500 projects set would be even more fun.Customer Review: Play and Learn!!

This is such a nice toy to "play" with. The included booklet shows a diagram of each project. They start out simple and basic. The directions are easy to follow. My 8 yr old son is able to easily follow the progression of each project on his own. Some of the projects are building circuits to light up a small light bulb, or sound off a small siren that has various sounds to choose, or spin a fan that will fly in the air. While they play with the pieces that snap on and snap off, they inadvertently learn what is needed to complete the various circuits. They are learning great information while playing. The board and pieces seem durable and well made. We are very pleased with this set and highly recommend it to others.Customer Review: snap circuits as fun and learning

I bought snap circuits based on a friend's recommendation. My grandson is 3 years old. The toy is recommended for 8 - 108 years old. BUT with adult help (Dad and Grandmother,)we had a blast!and stayed involved for a long time - some repeating over and over again any particular project. And furthermore, Jack later asked to go back to do more.
As one of the adults present,I found the instrucions and diagrams very clear and easy to implement. I read the lessons for each of our projects, and I think they were written to be understandable for a range of ages and experience(although too sophisticated for our 3-year old).
I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience with Snap Circuits.

First of all, great product. Bought this for my 7 year old son. He immediately began investigating and building the various projects. Product is solidly constructed without being too difficult for little ones to assemble. Instruction book is clear and easy to follow. Projects are active and fun. Can't wait to upgrade to the UC-30.
Writing to commend responsiveness of this company. There is a snap in light bulb that blew the 2nd time we connected to a circuit (it happens). Called company and left voicemail not expecting to hear back for a while. Received replacement light bulb within days. Was easy to follow replacement instruction over phone. Highly recommend these products and this company.

I am a teacher who needs self-directed hands-on experiences for my science/technology students at the middle/high school level. Beginners with no previous contact with basic electricity and/or electrons are fascinated with these kits. The parts are well built and durable. The kit is easy to organize and store. The plastic storage tray makes it easy to account for all parts. The kit uses rigid circuit components, making circuits easy to understand... as opposed to using flexible wires. Wires would tend to end up being an uncomprehendable pile of spaghetti. Included are many plans for pre-designed projects, yet the kit is safe and flexible enough to allow a student to experiment to his/her heart's content.
