Customer Review: Pretty good toy, but could be frustrating for some

My son received this toy for his 3rd birthday, because he loves play food and pretending to cook. First off, the things that I like: the rotating turn table, inside light, beeps when food is done, and the color scheme is appropriate for a boy (unlike a lot of cooking toys out there). The things that I didn't like at first, and could be frustrating for some kids: the child has to press the door closed at a certain spot or it won't stay closed, the open button seems to need to be pressed a certain way (quickly and with force) or the door won't open, some of the timer settings seem ridiculously long for a toddler (up to 3 minutes). The issues with the door were especially frustrating for my son at first, until he learned just the right way to open and close it. I didn't think there was any toddler on the planet who would wait for 3 minutes for their food to be ready, but it doesn't seem to phase my son, and he gets very excited when the microwave gives the warning beeps that it's almost done. So, overall it's a fun toy and my son completely loves it. I'd just caution that for some kids it's quirks could be a little frustrating.
