Toys and Games Reviews of Discover Sounds KitchenCustomer Review: My 10-month-old loves this Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my daughter when she was 8 months old. She hasn't stopped playing with it since. She also has the Little Tikes nesting pots and pans. They add so much more to the kitchen and fit really well. I noticed in an earlier review that someone didn't like that the shapes could fit in any hole. I liked that they did fit in any hole. For younger babies it's a great feature. I don't think my 10-month-old would like the toy if she had to have the right shape in the right hole. My daughter picks this toy above all others. We couldn't live without ours--and it's so cute!
Customer Review: Great toy! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great toy! My daughter got it for her first birthday. It is very small, which surprised me but when you think about it, the size of it is perfect for children who aren't really mobile yet. They can sit in the floor and play with it. There is no need to have to stand up. My daughter is 3 now and we have since given this to someone else. I strongly recommend this toy. The make believe sounds are great and it's just a great toy in general. We had no problems with the durability or performance of this toy. It's a definite must have "first time kitchen" toy.
Customer Review: Not that much fun for a 10 month old Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this toy for my 9 month old daughter. Convinced she would love it. I have tried for almost a month now to get her interested in this toy to no avail. Other than chewing on the ice cubes & pail she could care less about it. For that I could have just bought her plastic blocks to chew on that are far cheaper. Also, now that she is crawling she tried to pull herself up on it and it is so weightless it toppels over. I disagree with the manufacturer recommended age. This would probably be a much better toy for a 2-3 year old child that understands the kitchen and pretend play.
Customer Review: Great toy, but......... Summary: 4 Stars
We bought this toy for our daughter for her first birthday. She seems to enjoy it but I have a few concerns...not only does it tend to tip over easily and the utensil hook is too low to use but the shape sorter (ice dispenser) allows the three shapes to go through any of the three openings. I found this disapointing as I was hoping that it would be able to teach her shape sorting. Other than my few concerns, this toy is very cute, fun and able to fit easily in a small space! Just watch your child closely while she plays as mine has tried to us it as a step ladder on occasion :)!
Customer Review: It Needs an Anchor Point Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this for my 10-month old son. He loves to open and close the refrigerator door and push the button for the ice maker. He hasn't quite gotten the concept of the pot and pan yet. The oven door on the unit we purchased is hard to open, but he still enjoys trying. I do agree with others that it is very light-weight. (My son tips it over and lays on the back.) I wish there were some anchor points in back so it could be attached to a wall or sturdy piece of furniture. It is an extremely durable toy and I have already purchased another similar one for his birthday.
