Customer Review: bad pic quality, poor design, weak even as a toy

What was I expecting? I was hoping for a simple, sturdy, basic resolution camera my child can use easily that produces passable images. For the price and the brand associated with it, I though this might be possible. Clearly I had not ventured into the "Lego partner-produced electronics for kids" arena before and was naïve.
I get that it is a toy, but does it have to be such a mediocre, disappointing toy? The image quality is truly horrible. Basic functions, as simple as this camera is, are hard to use and poorly done. It has the guts of an $8 novelty camera like Argus VGA Digital Camera Pink 2 Mb Int Mem 1 Aaas but costs 8 times as much.
Yes, it's sort of Real Lego (tm) on the outside, but it sure does not reflect Lego quality standards otherwise. It is a glued-together cheap knockoff of what might have been a decent product that Lego shouldn't be caught dead putting its name on. On top of all that, there is no redeeming "Legoness" at all: no interesting use of the legos, no modularity or assembly, no hint of integration with any advanced lego functionality. You can technically stick legos on the top and bottom, but they managed to mess even that up by using an odd alternation of widths across the bottom.
Cons:
* low quality distorted plastic lens
* noisy, low-sensitivity primary sensor
* way over-compressed, causing horrible artifacts
* poor flash compensation causes blown-out photos
* no time & date clock, so all photos appear to have been taken March 8, 2008 at 3:30:30 pm. Wow, that sucks BAD.
* really slow USB charge time
* really poor battery life, non replaceable (assembled cheaply with permanent glue and no external screws)
* flaky mode setting for the one setting it has - flash on/auto/off. Difficult to select and not remembered through power cycles (frequently needed to preserve minimal battery life)
* too easy to delete photos - most digital cameras make you hit one button to delete then a different one to confirm. Not on this camera for kids! Children just have to keep hitting the lower button that makes the funny can appear and one by one they will see all their photos! What fun, too bad they are also deleted.
