Toys and Games Reviews of Wobble DeckCustomer Review: needs some design changes Summary: 2 Stars
This thing only works when used on a hard surface, and you have to hit the sensors against the ground pretty hard to register the input. Harder than my child could make the sensors hit the ground reliably in fact. In order to make it any fun for her, I had to glue plastic bumpers to the sensors on the bottom so that the sensor gets pushed further into the board with less force required, meaning that even a gentle tap on the sensor registers the hit, and I had to put it on a hard board on the carpet. Using it on our hardwoods actually DAMAGED the floors. So what you've got here is a toy that's supposed to teach kids to balance, but requires that they SLAM the sensors down, and requires that they learn on a hard surface like concrete, unless you do what I've done to it. It's a good idea for a toy, but a poor implimentation.
Customer Review: NaturaLee, FL Summary: 5 Stars
This was purchased for my 5 year old grandson for his birthday. It was an immediate success. This toy is a balance and coordination tool disguised as a really fun musical game. Knowing my grandson has plans to skateboard when his parents say he is old enough, I purchased this so that he could start developing the physical skills needed for the sport. As soon as it was out of the box he was on the deck and following the instructions emanating from the Wobble Deck. Each success was met with hoorays and applause and he was hooked. It is also one of those toys that attracts the attention of visiting playmates right away. This toy teaches skills, promotes physical fitness, and is incredibly fun. The adults were envious, but over the weight limit! A great toy.
Customer Review: "Mommy I love this toy" Summary: 5 Stars
We gave this to our 4 year old son just last night for Hanukkah. Let see he played with it for 3 hours before bed, put it in his room while he slept and brought it downstairs and played with it before school. The different levels are great, he will grow from the freestyle to the instructional over some time. The toy seems quite durable, made out of one solid piece of wood, with colorfully designed plastic corners. The corners play beats from the instrument on the corresponding corner when hitting the ground. And depending how long you balance on the corner is how many beats or a song from that instrument you can create. I highly recommend this toy. And I believe my son did too, when he told me "Mommy I love this toy".
Customer Review: Challenging AND fun! Summary: 5 Stars
My older kids definitely get more use out of this (6 & 9), and their friends are always very interested in trying it out because it is visually appealing. If they play with it near a wall, though, prepare to clean off some handprints because it is challenging to master and most kids start off cheating (holding the wall). Overall it has been a very sturdy product. The batteries also last a long time since it turns itself off after a while with no movement. My kids don't play with it daily, but with four girls we get desperate for Christmas ideas so thought this was unique. A good purchase but not necessarily a "Wowzer" if that's what you're looking for.
Customer Review: Disappointing Summary: 2 Stars
My son received this toy as a generous gift, unfortunately, it has been sadly disappointing. As stated by some reviewers - the board does not seem to register the hits unless extreme force is used. My 6 yr. old son got frustrated quickly and resorted to using his hands to bang the colors/numbers - thus defeating the whole point of the balance or "Wobble" game. Even when my husband and I tried it-- more often than not it did not register the hits. I don't know if our wood floors are not level enough or if the toy is defective-- but currently it is just taking up space in our apartment.
