This is a great phaser that has settings for just about everything you see in Star Trek TOS. An added advantage is that the knob on the left side at the front of the Type-2 handle makes it so that you can turn off the light which makes it great for shooting video. Just make sure that you push the Type-1 in until it clicks into the Type-2 handle or it will pop out when you turn the rear control knob to set it to overload. (That isn't actually a problem, it's just confusing.) This is a completley great product and I would recommend it to anyone.Customer Review: Happy Grandson

Our 7 yr. old grandson is happily zapping everyone who is a willing target.
He loves to put the phaser at it's optimum power and run after his target. To him this is the 'real thing'. I'm sure he will have many hours of fun with it.
I found it a little complicated to figure out so I gave it to Grandpa to look at and he discovered how to optimally utilize it.
I think it's a bit on the fragile side, but only time will tell.
The idea of this is good; the lights and sound could be better.

What can I say. If it loks like a phaser and sounds like a phaser then it must be a phaser. I love this toy. It makes all the different sounds a phaser makes.It lights up.It even remove phaser 1 from the main body to have a smaller pocket sized phaser(perfect for shooting the boss,teacher,pastor or,or anyone else that anoys you. I was unlucky enough to find out the hard way that Amazon sells used product, that was also broken,and not clearly marked as used in the ad, they really need to mark these things better. I spent about 5 or 6 hundred bucks there last month, and was happy with most of the stuff i have recieved from them, but not this!!!!!
It is just to bad, that i will never buy anything from them ever again, and will have no trouble tell friends and family not to shop there also!!!

I didn't buy mine from amazon, but it is definatly a solid phaser. I love it, and i feel like part of star fleet. the only problem is that on some of them, the latch that keeps the type I phaser in place is kind of loose, so when i press the trigger to hard, or i turn the overdrive dial, the type one phaser pops out. it's annoying, but remedied by a light trigger pull. all and all one of the best replicas i've seen.
