Toys and Games Reviews of Stomp Rocket Jr. Glow Kit

Customer Review: Big fun, a few minor glitches
Summary: 4 Stars

This toy is fun. As others have said the base falls apart rather easily, but that can be fixed with a rubber band or zip-tie like device (super glue it if you like). Additionally, there is a single wing nut connecting the blue tube to the yellow base (see photo). The blue tube tends to swivel downward (angle off perpendicular) as the rocket is inserted by 3 & 4 year olds. This is not good for that age range as they will launch the rocket sideways. I added a rubber band to correct this (see photo). In most cases, we want the rockets to go straight up. For older kids playing rocket wars, off angle is probably ok and the extra rubber band can be removed.

Customer Review: Fun x 5
Summary: 5 Stars

Purchased this for my 5 grandsons, ages 4, 8, 11 & 13, and it was an instant hit with all of them! From hand-held rocket wars starting at the Christmas tree, to distance competitions in the yard they are having a great time.
I bought the extra rockets to lessen the pick-up time between playing, and that was a good idea. Also, read reviews before purchasing and added a zip-tie to stablize the base.
The youngest boys (twins) have just turned 4 and were actually the first to get theirs unboxed and flying, scoring several hits on their older brothers, and their Dad, before they had to retreat from return fire.
We're loving it!!

Customer Review: Grandkids love 'em
Summary: 4 Stars

We have 2 grandkids, ages 3 (boy) and 5 (girl). It's a blast watching them blast off their stomp rockets. Plus, they're exercising, chasing their rockets all over the yard. Plus plus, they're burning up all that energy.

As for being educational... I guess. They maybe learn about modulating the force of the stomp. It's fun watching the younger one learning to track the flight path. He usually looks where the last one went, so a change in the wind is his curse.

There are design details I'd've done differently, but they're holding up pretty well. Also, I think it'll be pretty easy to rig up some repairs when the time comes.

Customer Review: Awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

Even a small child can get GREAT height with this, and it's ridiculously simple...just set it up (put the plastic stand together and screw the pump hose to it), stick a rocket on the end of the hose and STOMP. I wish the stand was a bit more durable, it's pretty flimsy plastic, but so far it has survived, and my tough-on-toys son has played with it many times.
Replacement rockets are available, and not too expensive. Expect to have to retrieve the occasional rocket from your roof if using this in the backyard! WAY more fun for the money than most toys, in my opinion, and no batteries or complicated technology involved. :)

Summary: 4 Stars

My son got this for Christmas, he is 5, and he just loves it! The hardest part, is getting his twin big brothers age 9, to let him have a turn on his own toy! Even his little sister, who is 2, has figured out how to aim and then launch the rockets, just by sitting fast, onto the launch pad. I love this toy, because even when it is cold and snowy outside, the kids can still play with it INSIDE the house, and because of the soft foam rockets, you don't have to worry about them breaking anything. This will keep them busy for hours, and I love to hear their laughter! It just cracks me up!
