Toys and Games Reviews of Stomp Rocket Jr. Glow KitCustomer Review: Great toy for young boys and fun for older ones too. Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my 3 year old son's birthday. He loves the toy and will sit and fire rockets and retrieve them over and over for an hour. Much longer than he'll do almost anything else. My two older sons also want to play with it whenever it's out. I even enjoy firing off a shot or two.
The rockets are light and soft enough that they pose little danger but could of course hurt an eye if one made a direct hit on the eyeball. I think this toy is a fun way for kids to get an intuitive grasp on concepts of angle, velocity and distance although the toy is not overtly educational.
The glow in the dark feature of the rockets seems useless. Mine don't glow brightly enough to make it worth playing in the dark. If there's any ambient light, the rockets are still hard to see.
The rockets seem to be crushed rather easily and then they don't fly as straight or well, but the refills are easily available through amazon. I ordered a set of refills with my original purchase.
Customer Review: fun gift for young boy Summary: 5 Stars
I got this for my 3 year old nephew on his birthday. He really liked it. His aim isn't the best when trying to jump off a step onto it, but that's not anything wrong with the toy.
The base looks like it will break in about a day. Our base lasted about 15 minutes, but again, not completely the fault of the toy. My nephew ran it over with a John Deere Gator, which then forced Uncle Jim to hold the hose for the next 45 minutes of play. I got an extra thing of rockets and I'm glad I did, because my brother put one on the roof and one in a tree almost emediately, so it was nice to have a few extra rockets.
We didn't have a lot of time to test the base, as I mentioned above, but it seemed kind of hard to keep it aimed in any direction for more than one jump. Everything just moves around so much, so either the kids need to learn to aim it, or you need an adult that is constantly reloading it and reaiming it before the next kid jumps on it. It's a workout. ;)
Customer Review: Lots of fun for $10! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this Stomp Rocket for my twin 3-1/2 year old boys. I wanted an "active" toy that wouldn't break right away and this definitely is everything I had hoped for! Between all the "stomping" and retrieving the rockets before the dog gets them, the boys are getting TONS of exercise! The rockets are fairly soft and we've even used it inside when the weather was crummy (and if one lands on the roof, we just wait for a gust of wind and it comes right down). They constantly want to play with it and I will probably get one more just so they don't fight over it all the time. The only complaint I have is that the plastic base (made up of three pieces that sort of slide together) keep coming apart (but the boys haul it around everywhere and are pretty rough with it, so that's probably a user problem). One cool feature is that the launcher can be "aimed" at things, instead of just shooting the rockets straight into the air. I would definitely recommend this toy....I liked the price also!
Customer Review: Great fun for ALL ages! Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this for my 4 yr old son's birthday in August. Good thing I read the reviews first, I knew exactly what to expect. We put the zip tie on the frame as soon as we opened it so that it wasn't constantly falling apart and i am happy to report that it has worked like a charm! It has not come apart yet and that is pretty amazing considering how much fun my boys have had with it (my other son is 5 1/2). I have to say that it is a super cool toy!! A complete hit at his party among kids and adults alike...everybody wanted to jump on it! My husband weighs 200 pounds and jumps with both feet and no problems, and it goes HIGH...so even though it needed initial alterations, this toy is holding up well! Make sure to buy the extra refill of rockets, we keep losing track of them and you can have more fun without having to run off to catch the rockets too often...worth the extra $$. This was also a great deal on Amazon, it is MUCH more expensive for the same thing on ebay!! ENJOY!!
Customer Review: One of my 5-year-old son's favorite toys Summary: 5 Stars
My son received this toy as a gift for his 3rd birthday, and he's now 5. When the weather is nice and he's playing outside, his stomp rockets are usually one of the first things he goes for. The product is made durably, which is a rare find in toys these days. Especially a toy offered at such an affordable price. This product is safe, and is fun enough that it draws the neighbor children to the yard. I must add that I enjoy playing with it as well.
The rockets launch high and far, and a child can easily adjust the angle of the launch. The rockets themselves are made entirely of foam, so there's virtually no risk of damaging property, breaking glass, or harming a child.
Bottom line: I would definitely purchase this product again, and may do just that simply for the fact that my son would love to own the extra rockets, and the neighbor kids waiting in line would only have to wait half as long!
