Customer Review: I Want a Stomp Rocket for My Birthday!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this on a lark after it was mentioned as being on sale on a bargain board. My niece was invited to attend a 4 year old boy's b-day party and it sounded interesting. The day after the party my sister called me to tell me I made a big mistake... I should have bought TWO!!!

Turns out this was the HIT at the birthday party, with the kids and adults all playing with it.

For my niece's 4th b-day this was one of only two things she requested. At her party she received all sorts of wonderful presents but the one which she was most excited about was the "STOOOOOOMP ROCKET! It was the first gift she opened and played with, right at the party!

It took about 5 minutes to put the launch together, and the 4yr old was showing all of the older "kids" (her aunts and uncles) how to use it. It is simple and lots of fun. While I would not identify it as an "educational" toy, it does teach kids that different amounts of pressure will cause the rocket to fly higher. Also the launch can be tilted so instead of straight up, it can shoot the rocket at an angle.

Just make sure that you are not near trees or too close to a house as we lost two rockets over the trees into the neighbor's yard. We had kids of all ages, from 4 to 80 playing with it. Great fun!

Customer Review: A Blast of Fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my sons, ages 5 and 2, and the 2 year old loves it probably more than his big brother. The rockets are as soft as Nerf foam, and they launch very easily. The rockets fly high and fast, but they don't hurt even when they hit you in the face. The 2 year old has taken to carrying the rocket launcher like a mini bazooka and chasing his brother with it around the house... he holds the rocket launcher on his little shoulder, drops the stomp-pad on the floor, and fires a salvo at his brother in less than a few seconds... it is amazing how good his aim has become. So far, they have been unable to damage anything with it or hurt one another.

This all said, this is not how the toy was meant to be used, but if you have boys, this is how it will eventually be used. If you have objections to your children firing foam projectiles at one another, then this is not the toy for you, (I know several parents that dislike the idea of their children "shooting" at anyone and refuse to buy them water-guns or Nerf products).

If you use this as it was meant to be used, you will take it outside and launch it straight up into the air, and it really goes amazingly high. Even when used properly, this toy is a blast to play with... even for dads.

Customer Review: tons of fun, but easy to break about 17 different ways
Summary: 4 Stars

all 4 of my kids, from ages 2 to 10, absolutely loved this thing. then the very flimsy base broke, and there was no way to fix it - either the fix just broke again immediately, or if you fixed it really well, the angle of trajectory was no longer adjsutable. so they just held the launch tube in their hands while stomping, which worked fine for a while, but then the stupid screw that held it onto the base ripped through the thin plastic of the tube, and there was air leaking out. then the thin, brittle plastic of the hollow rockets got smashed, one by one. basically, it worked beautifully for a couple of months, and we extended its useful life by several more months with lots of duct tape and jury-rigging, but it just went in the trash last weekend. and my two-year-old is now wandering forlornly through the backyard with a sorry-looking rocket in one hand, searching for it. i'm browsing for a similar product now that's sturdier... but i may wind up just buying exactly this again and plan on replacing it every 6-12 months. at $[...], not such a big deal. and they did learn about the awesomeness of duct tape, so, hey, educational bonus.

Customer Review: A definite child pleaser!
Summary: 5 Stars

We have had so much fun with these! My son had received these and another similar rocket set for his birthday recently. Although the other set is fun, this set is less expensive and is much more fun, as the rockets fly much higher and with a lot more power. The simple design is easy for my 4 and 5 year old to set up. The whole family, adults and all were seriously entertained for quite some time with this. The foam rockets are quite durable and have undergone much neglect from overuse and we have yet to have a single one break. I cannot say enough about this Stomp Rocket set. It is a great way to get the blood pumping while stomping and running around trying to catch the rockets as they fall. A great family activity but also an activity that can keep a child entertained for a good half hour at least. We have since purchased 5 more to give as gifts and have always been received with great enthusiasm for boys and girls alike! A great one to keep in the closet for gift giving. The toy is definitely deserving of the awards that it has won!

Customer Review: The Constant Birthday Present
Summary: 5 Stars

One of my sons is in Kindergarten and, when he gets invited to birthday parties, this is the gift we almost always give. We like it for so many reasons...

1) It is gender neutral - both boys and girls love playing with it.
2) He never has to worry about someone else giving the same present - it is an original
3) The toy is educational and, with proper adult guidance, helps children learn the basics of rocketry
4) The children get some exercise when using it - not only launching the rockets but going to retrieve them over and over and over again.

This is one of those items that requires adult supervision - don't just let them run loose around the backyard with it or, worse yet, in the house. While these junior rockets are relatively safe, improper use of them can form bad habits and give the wrong impression that all rockets are safe.

We have our own sets, we use these at school (I am a teacher), and we give them as gifts.... I can't think of a stronger endorsement than that!
