I can't believe how realistic this toy is. Pieces of plastic are velcroed together so that the child can use the realistic circular saw to cut the "wood". The saw moves and makes noise. Other "wood" has pop out circles that can be removed with the drill press to make holes that the screws can go through. The child uses screws to attach the pieces to create a bird house. The roof of the house can be hammered in place to create a finished project. The whole thing can be taken apart to be remade over and over again.
The only thing lacking with this toy is that Black and Decker should sell separate kits to make other projects. How many times will the child be content to make the same project over and over again?

Bought this for my 2 1/2 year old son last Christmas for [...] -can't believe sellers are trying to get well over [...] for it now. It's well worth the $60, not worth the [...]. My son loves this & all the tools he got from Santa. Design is good, but could be a bit more rigid. My son would put the included birdhouse together every day -often many times during the day. (Dad would like to see more projects to build -pretty bored with the birdhouse!) Now, 4 months into it, 1 hole on the birdhouse finally got stripped out. (Dad now wishes we had the birdhouse again -nothing left to build.) Would definitely buy this again for additional tools & accessories (& a new birdhouse), except the inflated price tag is a big holdup.Customer Review: Perfect gift for a little boy! Great value!

My son received this as a gift, and has absolutely LOVED this gift! It has so many different pieces to it, and he thinks he's just like daddy when using it. It even comes with parts to make a plastic birdhouse. My son is 20 mos. and even though it is recommended for kids a little older than him, I find that this is definitely a toy he will play with for years to come as he can be like daddy. He takes his screwdriver around the house trying to unscrew everything that has screws in it. This was purchased for approx. $40, and was worth every penny of it!Customer Review: This item is VERY poorly crafted!

"Santa Claus" brought this item for our 2 boys on Christmas Eve, and within' 2 min. of them opening it, the drill press was broken. The table saw was soon to follow. We have tried to email the manufacturer, but have received no reply. We then tried to call the service number, and have yet to get through. I highly discorage anyone from buying this item for their kids, as much as we liked the concept, and the kids love the idea of having their own workbench, it's just no worth it!Customer Review: RIP-OFF SCAM ARTISTS--BUYER BEWARE!

I didn't do my research and boy do I regret it. I found newer, better versions of this toy at my local TOys R Us for $100 less. They take the discontinued model and jack up the price. The item I received was in a damaged box and had obviously been opened before but I missed the 3 day window to do the return plus they charge 20% restocking fee. THESE SELLERS ARE UNETHICAL LOSERS!
