I bought these online because I thought I could get them cheaper that way. I didn't however research the price at Target or Walmart first. Subsequently I saw them at Target for less than half what I paid. I paid something like $10.00 and I saw them and other similar for less than $5.00. So, they are chalk and they work fine, I still have the unused ones, however, in this case it would have been less expensive to just buy them at Target.Customer Review: Don't mess wth smaller boxes

We had been buying smaller boxes of chalk which our kids (2 and 4) would go through in a few days. This box allows them to really be creative and create elaborate drawings on the sidewalk. The kids really enjoy the chalk and if it doesn't rain, they can enjoy their artwork (or hop-scotch) for days. A must have for your toddlers and young children.Customer Review: Simple Fun

As soon as my grandaughter opened the package to this chalk she was using it on her chalkboard. Two weeks later she and her big sister were using this chalk on surfaces outside.

This is such a great value! It lasts forever (as long as it isn't left open in the rain!)!! There are a variety of colors and the container is a wonderful way to tote them around!

A nice sturdy container and 52 thick pieces of colorful chalk, all for $6! I am quite impressed by the quality and love the endless possibilities for using this toy. Sidewalk art, hopscotch, tic-tac-toe... young and old can all enjoy this great value!
