Toys and Games Reviews of Crayola Color Explosion Glow Board

Customer Review: LOVE this toy!
Summary: 4 Stars

We got this for my daughter's 6 year old birthday. It was easy to use, easy to clean and hasn't given us one bit of trouble. I read all the reviews of people who say they scratched it during cleaning, which surprised me. A damp/wet rag, just lightly moved across the surface, worked very well. We had no trouble cleaning it.

The markers ARE small, and I can see where they will run out in a short time. Crayola doesn't sell the markers separately, you have to special order them. I found a place online that sells ADULT wet-erase black light markers that I am ordering to supplement her set.

VERY cool toy. We're glad we bought it.

Customer Review: Big disappointment
Summary: 1 Stars

We bought this last Christmas for our 4 year old son who loves drawing.we thought it would be like an amped up magna doodle. Well, I ended up tossing it in the trash and i usually donate old toys but not this one. The markers are a one time use quality so i bought him a set of highlighters which were brighter than the markers that came with it but the effect is still reallylame. Even with new batteries, the board does not glow brightly at all. It is pretty easy to clean with baby wipes but it just does not live up to the photo on the box, it is just like drawing on a window, the light from the bottom is too weak to produce any extra effect or interest.

Customer Review: So much fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for Christmas for my 9-year old. He absolutely loves it! We didn't find it hard to erase - just had to keep getting fresh wet papertowels, but he was able to erase on his own. He had fun making his own drawings and also tracing the "animated" sample drawing that came with this. We went to the Crayola website and printed off another 20 or so of these "animated" drawings and he has been having fun with them since. I have had fun playing around with it also, and Riley made a "Get Well" sign for his dad last week when he got sick. I would definitely recommend this - maybe it's better for slightly older kids to get the full benefit.

Customer Review: Not even half as cool as the commercial
Summary: 3 Stars

My son got this for Christmas and though the neon lights and glowing are neat, we still have no clue how to use it. I read the directions multiple times but they aren't clear enough and make no sense to me. If we could figure it out it might be fun, but I have coloring books that are easier to use if its just going to be a coloring board... a hard to erase coloring board. Bottom line: The commercial makes this toy look awesome and in reality it will just sit on a shelf, a complete waste of money... but whats new with toys today. My stars would have all been 2's but it wouldn't let me change what I accidentally clicked...

Customer Review: A little cheap, but much better than stated by others.
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought this for the same price in november for my daughters 6th birthday. Thing is really cool and works well. Don't worry about the bad reviews, those parents obviously never actually play with their kids and figure out their toys. The markers do look very dry when you first start, but turn out the lights and turn it on and it shines very bright. The only problem with it was I got what i paid for, one trip and a fling across the room and the black lights no longer worked(it hit a cushion and fell on carpet). It was fun while it worked, the animation between the two screens is great fun, and really sparks imagination.
