Customer Review: Wish I could find the markers!

We bought the Crayola Explosion Glow Board this past weekend. My daughter used her Christmas money to purchase this from Walmart for 20 bucks. After we figured out how to play with it, it was much fun! I had just as much fun as my 6 year old! I would leave her a message and color over it with a heart on the top board.
The caps are hard to put on straight and the markers aren't very durable. My biggest complaint now is the markers and not being able to find the refill packs. They are sold out in the stores, online stores, and crayola.com. I can't even find them on ebay. By the time they come out again, we may lose interest in the product.
I hope this product isn't being discontinued. I am glad I didn't spend the full price I have seen quoted, however, 20 bucks isn't chump change!

I bought 2 of these for my girls birthdays, turning 5 and 6yrs old.
I purchased rechargeable batteries for it, and I noticed after I bought them, it says not to use them, which is a big let down.
there also is not a recommended cleaning method, but we just used a damp cloth which worked fine.
The markers dry out really fast, which are needed to play with the toy, because of them drying out so fast I think that it is money down the drain ultimately.
I plan on boxing them up and returning them, though I don't know how the kids will react to that, I cant see losing $35 ($16 plus tax each) for a couple of days worth of play, because thats how long the markers will last, and a refill pack of markers is $5.99 not including shipping.

My daughter received this toy as a gift and though she had many nice gifts, this one made her day. She plays with it constantly! It is great for creativity and shows in 3D like effect how flip pages work...like for making cartoons. Very cool! The markers have not dried out, at least not yet and though the screen doesn't clean perfectly with a simple swipe of a damp cloth...she hasn't cared in the least. I notice by the reviews that kids adore this toy, as does my daughter, but parents are focusing on little details. I think it is more important that this has creative value and keeps the kids busy! I give it 5 stars for that... I have purchased dozens of "quality" toys that just don't seem to keep the attention of kids like this one has.Customer Review: Fun for everyone!

I am 24 years old and I received this as an xmas gift. It is so much fun for all ages! It was officially named "coolest gift ever" by everyone at the xmas party.
It is simple to use once you read the instructions, the glowing effect is amazing! I would recommend this for older children, as it may be hard for youngin's to understand the steps needed to make the animated picture effect, and a few drops on a tile floor might break this toy. As far as educational value, I suppose it teaches about light refraction, if you want to get into that with your kids. It cleans up great with a damp cloth. Also, make sure you have 3 AA batteries on hand, they do not come included.

My 7 year old daughter just received this toy for Christmas, I was a little apprehesive to buy it as I read it's reviews. I bought it anyway, and am glad I did. This is a great toy. To be honest I have used it more than she has. The board is easy to clean if you just use a damp washcloth as the instructions say. The glow effects are better in a darkened room, but are still clearly visible in a lit room. The separate glow boards and flashing effect makes for fun and endless drawing possibilities. The only complaint I have is the makers, they do seem a little dry and don't look like they will last that long, but replacements are available on Ebay. We love this toy!!
