Toys and Games Reviews of Gazoobo Shape SorterCustomer Review: Great Bang for the Buck Summary: 5 Stars
We get these for ten bucks at Target and they are awesome for gifts. Everyone loves them.
It teaches fine motor skills, logic, matching, shapes, animals, counting, colors, and so much more. Toddlers love having their own set of keys that actually work on something.
I have never had the problem with sharp edges the other reviewers mention. My only warning? Don't put the pieces in the dishwasher. Of course, if I had thought about it for two seconds I wouldn't have done it, but all the stickers came off.
Customer Review: There are better shape sorters Summary: 1 Stars
The animal shapes are barely recognizable at the top of this Gazoobo and too difficult for a toddler. My 2 year old loves the key ring, but fitting the small keys into their respective small key holes is beyond her toddler capability. There is no provision to attach the key ring to the gazoobo, so the parts cannot be stored neatly together. The Chicco Crank n Spin is much more fun and easier to use. The classic Tupperware, blue and red, shape sorter is best for more advanced sorting. I do not recommend the Gazoobo.
Customer Review: They could do better Summary: 3 Stars
The colour-coded doors are fun for my child to open and close; however, the roof is red, not colour-coded to match the doors and the animals who are supposed to fit (extremely snugly) into the slots in the red roof do not in any way resemble their real-life counterpart or accepted caricature. Also the choice of animals for a 'zoo' is peculiar - I mean, a camel or a sea-lion? On the other hand, my child has taken great delight in banging every conceivable object against this toy and it STILL looks out of the box new.
Customer Review: Consider others for young toddler Summary: 2 Stars
We purchased this toy when our toddler (age 2) was ready to do more than just sort shapes -- we were attracted to the keys and the color coding. Unfortunately, the keys are too intricate and the shapes are too weird and/or close-fitting for easy use. Oddly, the complex animal-shaped holes are on the roof of the house while the simpler holes are on the doors where they are harder to reach. We shelved the Gazoobo and purchased a similar toy with simpler keys and shapes. The Gazoobo may come out again at 30 or 36 months.
Customer Review: gazoobo Summary: 3 Stars
This product looked like a good idea for my daughter who likes her shape sorter. But it turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment. The animal shapes have to be positioned just so to get them in the right hole. Then the keys were impossible for her to use to remove the animal from it's cage. Not exactly something that I want to promote to my kids that animals need to be locked up. It says it is for ages 18mos+, but I think the toy would be better suited for 3+ since it is so difficult to play with.
