I was a bit skeptical to purchase a non-Nintendo branded power adapter. However, I figured, it's JUST a power cord, what could go wrong?
I took it out of the box, plugged it in, then plugged it into my Wii. Things were fine for about 10 minutes then I heard a POP. Nothing seemed strange, I just thought it was something else.
Shortly after the Wii shut off. I turned it back on and now I heard popping and zapping. It was coming from the power adapter. I quickly unplugged it and noticed an electrical burn smell. More than likely a bunch of cap's inside blew out.
I don't know if there is permanent damage to the Wii, but I will not even take the chance for another unit.
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

This adaptor is great and eforcity service is even greater. My order was shipped immediately, it was on course to arrive in time, however the tracker suddenly mentioned address not deliverable. On checking with USPS they mentioned some mix up at their end resulting in package going back. I sent two emails to eforcity. Got reply in 4 hrs from both, confirming their intention to dispatch another piece and re-confirming address. They shipped without waiting for earlier adaptor to come back. Absolutely crappy picture with LCD my TV. Creates waves of vertically scrolling static. I tried it on two different LCD TVs, same result. Cannot compare with Nintendo brand power cable. Eforcity ships fast and is excellent vendor, but this product is not worth purchasing if you are concerned in the least with picture quality! I went to Nintendo's website and got a refurbished one for $15. Too bad I wasted my money buying this one first!Customer Review: Not so great with large screen plasma

This product works fine on our smaller television. But it causes 'static' on our large screen plasma. The static is bad enough that we simply could NOT use this power adaptor with our large Plasma. We switched back to The original Wii Power adapter that came with our Wii and that one does NOT cause any static on our large screen Plasma. Hope this helps.Customer Review: Great Replacement

I bought this power adaptor as a replacement after a storm fried the one that came with the Wii. I researched several different brands online and decided to take a chance on this one. I figured at less than $12.00 it was worth the gamble. It paid off. The power adaptor works great, I can tell no difference between it and the original.
