Please do not buy this racing set for your son or daughter. It is completely useless and it does not work at all! The cars will not stay on the track no matter what you do or what you try. The instructions it came with are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! Carrera should be ashamed of themselves for even selling this item. Your kids will be very disappointed and you will want the 2 hours back that it took you to assemble this piece of junk. My son was so excited but was then crushed when the cars wouldn't stay on the track. I don't normally write reviews of things but felt compelled to write a review for this because this racing set really is that bad.Customer Review: Not bad but I wouldn't pay full price!

Christmas gift for a 4 year old. He can't put it together by himself and we don't have the space to leave it out so if he wants to play with it, he has to have supervision and set up time, which isn't great. It's solid enough, the cars frequently fly off the tracks, he hasn't figured out how to slow down around the corners and they do fly off if they're going at full speed. The husband has had more fun playing with it though, he likes the turbo boost on the straightaways. That being said, I only paid $19 for this set, I certainly wouldn't pay retail or even half price. There are better toys for that amount of money, but for what I paid, not bad.Customer Review: I should really take the age limits more seriously...

I bought this to share with my 4 yo and thought that, with supervision, he would enjoy racing in his own Piston Cup. I shortened the track a bit, took out the banked curve, and he caught on pretty quickly. The cars work well, go incredibly fast, and stay on the track much better than the slots of my youth. One morning, while I was in the shower, he decided to move the track. This resulted in some broken pieces, a lot of tears, and the end of The Piston Cup for now. We'll replace the broken track and set it back up when he's a little older and we're in a home with a little more space.Customer Review: Wonderful, lots of fun!

Contrary to other reviews I found this set awesome. I got it for my three year-old and he loves it (my five year-old daughter as well). Setup took a little bit of time and was painless (but I do have a reserve a patience). Cars do go screaming off the track when you are going too fast, that is part of learning how to race slot cars (much like real life). Give it a go your kids will love it (Dads and Moms too). Adults can navigate the track with no problems whatsoever, but this is racing so push the envelope!
The lap counter is neat too, easily tracks who is ahead in the race.

This product is wonderful, yes it does have it up's and down's like if you hold the throttle down to far the cars will fly off the track, but I have notice that if you put some small rubber bands around the trigger to limit the movement it will slow the speed of the cars allowing them to stay on the track. I have a three year old son and we have fun on it all day. Yes when you get it make sure to flatting the metal brushing to the bottom of the car so the care will fit nicely to the track to minimize roll offs when going around the corners. overall I think is an wonderful product.
