Customer Review: Cars DO NOT STAY ON TRACK!

My five year old just got this for Christmas from his Godmother. It looks nice just like the box and the cars have a nice appearance just like the movie but it absolutely does not function or will not do what your imagination thinks that it should. The cars do not stay on the track they are entirely too fast and lack the magnetic pull to keep them on the track, no curlying of the metal strips will help the cars, run properly. I am an adult and can barely get the cars to do one lap, two at best.
Now my son does laugh his butt of just shotting the car off the track but this is starting to leave marks on the wall and the cars getting damaged. Good luck if you are getting this for a child, get better cars and more track.

This track is HUGE. Be sure you have the space for it! If it is a gift, be sure to put it together BEFORE you give it to your child. We gave this to our son who is 8 years old with autism. He loves it...so does Dad...ok Mom likes it too.
My husband built a board/case for the track so we didn't have to dismantle it every time we had to move it, but it is 8 ft long and takes up a lot of space. Lighting does better over all b/c his wheel base is wider, so it's good if you put him on the outside track to give Chick Hicks a fair chance. Chick Hicks tends to come off the track more on the outside track.
Lots of fun, but somewhat delicate for a younger child. Even so, I would recommend it to others.

We purchased this toy for our 3 1/2 yro son. (Yes, I know the recommended age is higher). The toy is only played with when there is a parent present.
This racetrack is very large and is sort of a pain to put together, so you want to have enough room to leave it put together. That being said, you need to dust this racetrack at least every other day. Because it is a slot car track, the cars will collect any dust on the surface and it gets built up underneath and then the cars won't run. Also, the extras (the flags and decorative items) are flimsy and can get broken very easily.
Other than that, it is a very fun racetrack. It even has something that will click and count your laps for each car.

Bought this for my three year old sons birth day, well, and probly more for myself. It arrived with the shipping box pretty banged up, but the seller shiped well enough to prevent any damage to the product. It took about an hour to get race ready, and boy are thies cars fast. Its imposible to go full speed aroud the track, but you dont have too! My three year old son had the hang of the controls in about an half hour. The cars do come off the tracks, you do crash into eachother, but thats what slot car raceing is about. I would not however recomend this for use for any one under six or seven without adult suppervision. OK. Read the other poor reviews and I can't see were there are coming from. From my memory of racing tracks when I was younger this track works great. Yes the cars fly off the track, if you don't control them properly that's what they are supposed to do. Control is what makes the game challenging, learn how to make the brushes on the cars contact properly and adjust your speed and you can have a blast, both my 7 year old and I have. My suggestion for those that had a bad experience spend some time adjusting the cars and using the controls and you will enjoy this track. Overall I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a "non video" racing experience.
