Toys and Games Reviews of Busy Basics Busy Ball Choo-ChooCustomer Review: Lots of fun for my 10 month old Summary: 5 Stars
My 10-month-old son LOVES this toy. I almost didn't buy it because there's no volume control, but I'm so glad I did. It also helped him learn to crawl because he was so motivated to chase after it. It's very easy for him to get the train to go -- the button on top is easy for a baby to push.
He loves grabbing the balls as they spin around inside the train and then putting them back in again. The different settings are good (spinning balls vs. balls falling out the back; stationary vs. moving train), and you can also turn the center wheel on the underside of the toy to make the train go in a circle instead of a straight line. The train will also move on carpet if the pile isn't too thick.
Only downsides are that there's no volume control--it's pretty loud--and the tunes get stuck in your head.
Customer Review: Good toy, but easy to lose the balls Summary: 4 Stars
My son plays with this almost more now at 2 years old than he did before. Although, he's really into trains now too. The only thing I don't like about it is it's easy to lose the balls, but thats how it is with most toys like this. It seems to be super durable, as my son has thrown it down PLENTY of times on a wood floor and ceramic tile. Nothing has cracked or broken yet and we have had it for about a year. I like the fact that it moves and I really like that it moves in a circle, so that it comes back around to the kid. The only thing is switching the lever between moving or not, or the lever for the balls coming out the back of the train or not, are too hard for a young one to do themselves. But we have gotten plenty of use out of it and I would recommend it.
Customer Review: Great Toy! Summary: 4 Stars
This train is a big hit with my eight month old. I love how easy the button is to press--my daughter has lots of toys she can't get going on her own because you have to press them so hard.
On the mode where the train spits the balls out the back....it happens a little too fast in my opinion. My daughter can hardly even notice them because it's all over so fast! But the good news is that as she gets older she will be able to use that feature.
Durability-wise, the balls are super thin. Our dog snatched one ball and within two seconds the ball was punctured! They're very thin plastic which makes sense for the toy, but you just have to be careful that they don't get stepped on or stolen by your pet.
Customer Review: Love this toy Summary: 5 Stars
I was determined to get this toy for my son for Christmas, and after looking at 5 other sites finally found it on Amazon. He absolutely loves it! The train is so fun, he will sit there and stare at the balls going around and down and tries to figure out where they went. I can't wait until he is a little older and can crawl after it and put the balls back in. I only have 2 minor complaints: it doesn't move in a straight line, so it tends to get stuck on things; the other is that the 2nd stage lever stays in 'move' mode until it runs into said things, when you pick it up or push it a little to get back on track the lever pops back to 'stay' mode. By the time you get the lever to lock again the song is over and you have to start over again.
Customer Review: Great fun for all Summary: 5 Stars
My son got this for christmas when he was 6 months old. He was a little young for it then, but liked the balls and watching my 4 year old play with it. Now that the baby is 11 months this is one of his favorite toys! One of the best features is that there's really four play modes. It can be stationery or move across the room, it can also "recycle" the balls or have them drop out the back. If my son gets bored with one mode, we just change it up. We also found that the balls are the same size as the ones that come with the fisher-price pop up toy so it's nice that we can interchange them and not have to worry about not mixing them up. I highly recommend this product. It's a great toy for our infant as well as our preschooler!
