Customer Review: Keeps both one year old and four year old entertained

PROS: various modes of play, very entertaining for various ages, provides a bit of exercise in certain modes, give me 10-20 minutes of 'free' time
CONS: Very loud, levers sometimes 'stick' making it hard to change the modes
This toy is a lot of fun. The regular ball popper had been a hit with my 4 year old as a toddler, so I thought this might be great for her little sister, who is now one. I liked that it had a few different modes of play with it, and toys that can move on their own are always intriguing to toddlers.
It has 2 options with the balls and 2 options for movement.
You can have the balls
1. rotate continuously in a circle or 2. shoot out behind the toy.
The train can
1. chug along on its own or 2. Stand still
I made a perfect choice with this. It never fails to entertain both the 4 yr old and the 1 yr old when I need to get something done. I can put the balls in it and turn it on, and it buys me at least 10-20 minutes of time, if not longer. Usually the only reason I only get that amount of time is because i need to stop them from fighting over it!
This toy can also provide a bit of exercise. If put in movement mode plus balls coming out the back mode, it can keep my girls running after the balls and running back to the toy to put them back in. Or even in stand still mode with the balls coming out the back can get them at least chasing the balls.
The only bad parts: it is REALLY loud and there is no volume control. It does the same short bursts of song over and over, too. I'd prefer a few songs done in longer duration. However, I am just happy to have them occupied so I can cook or clean for a bit, so the noise doesn't bother me. But, my husband cannot be on the same level of the house when that thing is going off. Why do Moms seem to be able to handle the noisy, annoying toys much better than Dads? :)
The other issue is that the levers are kind of tight. Sometimes when I am switching modes I am almost worried I am going to snap the lever off. So, this makes it impossible for my one year old to switch the modes sometimes. But my 4 year old is usually controlling that aspect anyway.
But, in the end, my kids and I still love this toy. I would buy it again.
