Customer Review: Excellent Hands-On Learning Toy

Excellent life-like cement mixer for a 3-5 year old who's not too rough with toys, and able to follow simple instructions. Sand can be poured into the drum, and water put into the water tank. When you turn the drum it mixes the "cement" and pours it out the chute. My son loves it, uses it correctly, and takes good care of it, but he tends to be respectful toward all his toys. There was one boy at a playground sandbox who could not follow instructions and had to be told 3 times not to put sand in the water tank. After the 3rd time, the cement truck was removed, and the boy was no longer allowed to borrow it. Dad had to clean out the water tank of sand, which was cleanable, and now it still works fine.Customer Review: Lots of fun ... lots of water

Overall a favorite toy.
On the positive, it is pretty large, and detailed, with fun moving parts for a 2-3 year old.
Just a note to parents: It inevitably gets water all over the place, which is of course fun, but you really don't want this on a carpet or floor that can't easily be mopped up. Outside is best!
A bit of a shame because there are times when you just can't deal with all the water, so the toy isn't out all the time (or provokes whining!).
I also agree with the comments about this toy being a bit on the fragile side -- not for riding on or rough treatment.

I purchased the fire truck for my two year old grandson and it was an instant hit. So, the cement mixer was an obvious choice. It too is well built, functional, and exciting to children. The only part that does not seem up to par is the hose. It has to be wound around a wheel and the hose appears to be made of a thin plastic. The hose falls off the wheel and has to be constantly rewound. I can only guess it will not last as long as the rest of the toy. Bruder should have followed the model they used for the fire truck.
Despite this one issue, the toy is a hit and my grandson loves his new toy.

My son LOVES trucks and although this truck seemed a bit pricey ($[...]) I am so glad I purchased it. The truck is very good quality - sturdy with real rubber wheels. The fact that it actually functions alone puts it above any others you may be considering. It has a tank that you can fill up behind the cab that allows a hose to function that is part of the cement truck, and if you fill up the cement mixer with water and turn the crank it slowly pours out of the cement chute at the back. After purchasing this truck I checked out the maker's web site - I think they make every truck imaginable!Customer Review: His Favorite Toy

Truck-obsessed 2 year old got this for his birthday. It is the first thing he wants to play with every morning and the last at night. At first we were worried because it didn't seem to be as sturdy as some of the Tonka trucks, but it has held up extremely well and its light weight makes it easy for him to carry around. Be warned: The cap on the water tank does come off and could be a choking hazard to small children, which is probably why this truck is rated for ages 3 and over.
