Toys and Games Reviews of Crayola Glow Station can create with Light!Customer Review: Just OK Summary: 3 Stars
My 5 yr old son really really had to have this. I paid way too much for it as it was a very hard to find item at Christmas. He played with it once or twice and it hangs in his room. I've doodled on it more than he. The templates are hard to use as there is no way to hold them up to the surface when it is hanging on the wall. The "light" does not last long. When you make an image it begins to fade really quickly, so you barely have time to choose another template and color that one it to make a complete scene. It's cool for about 1/2 hour, then it is boring for me and my son. Similar to the response I got from the Auqa Doodle. Limited resources to keep child engaged or even seem fun.
Customer Review: My Girls Love This Toy Summary: 5 Stars
This is a fantastic toy. It definitely works the best in the dark. It's great to use with the shapes they give you but also fun to put toys or other things on top of it. You can put your hand or foot on top of it and shine the light above your hand and it will leave your handprint on the board. It doesn't fade off quickly, if you are in the dark. I think this toy can be educational because your child can think of different ways to leave images on the board. I enjoy playing with this too. It can get wrinkled easily and the diamond thing that makes stars left a few dents on our board. You can't push down with that hard. My girls and I love this toy. I highly recommend it.
Customer Review: No longer afraid of the dark! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this as a Christmas present for an almost 5-year-old and an 8-year-old, not knowing it was rated for 6+, but both have enjoyed it equally and both have used it with relative ease.
The younger boy has been afraid of the dark, sleeping with a light on all the time. After getting the Glow Station, he didn't want to come out of his darkened room! Use of the stencils is still a bit beyond his interest level, but he still really enjoys this toy.
The 8-year-old has also enjoyed his Glow Station, though he wished the images lasted longer. Still, it's been a lot of fun and a great creative outlet.I think it's cool too...that's why I bought it!
Customer Review: Fun, but not quite what I was expecting Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this for two of my grandsons for Christmas. It's a fun toy, works well in dim lighting so the drawings stand out better but the picture on the box is a little deceptive. It's a mat of plastic with two ends of hard plastic. It comes rolled up and takes awhile to get it to straighten out. The drawings disappear after a few moments. One of the grandsons likes to place his hands and feet on the plastic, wave the light pen around and get a bright outline. The mat shows marks and dents from use pretty quickly. For the age recommendation, this seems to be a weak point. The stencils are a nice accessory.
Customer Review: Fun for the kids Summary: 3 Stars
I got this for my 6 year old niece for Christmas and she loves it! As an adult I don't think it's the most awesome thing but what counts is that she enjoys drawing on it. I agree with a lot of the reviewers out there, the drawings don't last very long at all, you can't make a space ship scene and hope it will last a while, once you draw something and then move on to the next item the first item ha already begun to fade. However I do think it is a good toy for younger children because little kids like to draw many small things. Instead of wasting paper on these small things they can do it on this product!
