The idea of this toy is outstanding, but the have a major flaw. The paint brush only stays lit for 3-8 seconds after it is activated at the paint well. It takes a second or two for my four year old to dip the brush in the paint well and then bring the paint brush to the paper. By the time he begins to make a stroke, the brush turns off (sometimes it turns off while he is still at the paint well). We had brought the toy into a dark room and he was so excited to paint in the dark, but it can't happen because the brush turns off. The commercial is VERY MISLEADING. This product is an amazing product for both young and old. The technology that is involved causes all ages to wonder how it works. The colors are vivid or pastel with the interchangable paint tray inserts and the price makes it an affordable gift for everyone.
It is a great way for the young to pass the time expressing their art on cold or rainy days.I would recomend this to anyone who is thinking about purchasing one. Be sure and get plenty of paper for all of the artists in your family. Everyone will at least want to try it once.

I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old for Christmas. She absolutely loved painting with this. Like other reviewers, I'm glad to say that this paint doesn't mess up anything else besides the Color Wonder paper that comes with it. The paint brush itself is big enough for her hand to hold, and the brush tip is durable enough for her to paint as hard as she wants, and it hasn't broken yet. The only draw back has been talking her into putting the paints away after a few hours of fun painting!

My 3 year old daughter got this for Christmas from her great-grandmother and she had it out of the box instantly and started painting. Its a great product, the brush is very durable. My only concerns with is to make sure you tear out each page individually for the kids to paint so that the pages don't get stuck together. The other thing is the paint likes to get from the plastic container to the stand so cleanup is a little messy but its so worth it! My daughter loves painting and giving it to everyone!Customer Review: No Mess. No batteries either.

Gave this to our granddaughter for her birthday. Just about any battery operated product you buy these days has the necessary batteries included. Why in the heck would they not include some with this? That should have been the first clue about Crayola's commitment to little ones -- it seems to be about the buck. The small amount of paint included in this gimmicky product will last about a day. Very disappointing. For the same price you could get a years supply of water colors and regular paper.
