Toys and Games Reviews of Crayola Color Wonder Magic Light Brush

Customer Review: This is definitely a NO MESS paint kit!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was worried what this would be like when my daughter received this as a gift last month. But she absolutely loves it and the brush is great for those little hands too. It is totally mess free and there are refills out there. I have found that Target carries a bigger supply of this than most stores. I just read some reviews about this on here and we haven't ran down the batteries yet and I have no problems w/ this item at all. I plan to get this for my friends daughter right now and ship it to her for her birthday. This is great for the little ones that want to learn how to paint and get out of that finger painting stage. I hope this review helps and you will be happy with this product I am sure.

Customer Review: design flaw
Summary: 2 Stars

Although the light up paintbrush and clear paint are neat ideas, there is a serious design flaw that prevents the whole thing from working most of the time. There is a button under one of the paint cans that allows the brush to light up when it is turned on. The problem is the paint can is not heavy enough to depress the button--even when new. most of the time the brush won't work. We've put new batteries in twice just to get 15 minutes of play out of this things and discovered it was not the batteries. Unless you hold down the purple pain can, the brush doesn't light up, but the paints still paint on paper. Since the light up brush is the main attraction of this thing, it's not worth it.

Customer Review: Fun but not as good as real paint
Summary: 4 Stars

My daughter loves to paint (what child doesn't!), but I was not very impressed with this toy. First of all the paint in the tubs are clear and while that helps to be "mess free," it barely lights up to the paint color once brush is put over it. Then once put on the paper, it takes a few seconds for the color to show up. So for a few seconds the paper is still white. The paint only changes color on the paper but it is still a messy gel that would mess up most cloth furniture, carpet, and rugs. It is very helpful to keep tables, walls, and hardwoods clean though. While I thought it was a great product, it was not as good as I hoped.

Customer Review: Disappointed...
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this toy for my 5 yr old for Christmas. Most of the reviews about the product were positive, so I decided to take the plunge. Unfortunately, I'm not very impressed with the product. The colors come in a pasty form that makes it very difficult for a child to paint small things/figures. The so called paint stays pasty until it dries (which takes about an hour) and you can't mix the colors once it's on the paper (something kids love to do).

Anyway, I'm sorry to say that I would not recommend this product to any of my family and friends. Very disappointed considering we love Crayola products.

Customer Review: Great Idea, Wish it was a little better made
Summary: 3 Stars

This was a gift for my kiddos. I love the idea of this Light Brush and my kids love it!! But I gave it 3 stars only because the brush picks up a lot of paint at a time, and my kids being 5 and 3 have a hard time knowing how to take out less. The paint is real think too. If the refills didnt cost so much maybe it wouldnt be that bad. It also sometimes found that it would get the color wrong when putting the brush in the color or take too long to recognize the color at all. That was kind of a bummer. Otherwise a fun way to paint. I would have to say though overall just not worth the money.
