When the package arrived at our door, it looked like some teenager learned to tape a box for the first time. After opening it, we realized that screws and parts were falling out of it. There was a bag for them but it came apart at the bottom and let the contents loose within the box. No big deal considering they didn't scratch the finish at all. As we removed the panels, we noticed a couple of corners were damaged. Since its not real wood (most likely MDF), it split and had nicks in it. We also noticed the wooden dowel rod (yes, this is real wood) came apart at the finger joint like it was never glued together. Since I'm into woodworking, I figured all of this could be fixed and proceeded to assemble it. After digging through the box, I noticed the only instructions included was a diagram of where screws go and a blown-apart view of the organizer. Panels weren't labeled, step by step instructions were not included, and we were left with figuring out the correct layout and assembly procedure on our own. Its not very elaborate, so figuring out the order of assembly wasn't difficult. The hardest part was figuring out which panels went where and in what orientation. Once we knew all of that, we continued putting it together and it was going pretty smoothly until we realized that one of the panels holes didn't match up quite right. It was the correct panel but they either didn't drill their holes in the correct location, the cardboard panels weren't cut to correct length, or the dado slot wasn't cut deep enough. On top of all of this, we noticed the panels had dripping along certain edges because of the overspray. At this point, we had enough and decided to return it.
Overall, this organizer was badly constructed and packaged by Beck International. It would have been a great product if they put a little more quality control into it. If another manufacturer made it, I would buy one but I would not recommend this to anyone.
