Although the dimensions are stated, the given picture for this bookcase makes this item look bigger than it really is. So the picture is a little deceiving. Our bookcase arrived with small nicks and dents in the shelves and columns that were painted over at the factory.
But that is not the worst part:
This pencil bookcase must be assembled by connecting the sections of the wood columns. One section is connected to the next section via a bolt at the end of the first section that screws into the nut that is embedded in the end of the next section. Our bookcase arrived with an eraser foot that had its nut embedded way too deep into the wooden eraser. So the bookcase couldn't be successfully assembled. Does the manufacturer not perform a quality check at the factory?
I would recommend anyone interested in buying this bookcase to first look for a similar bookcase from another manufacturer. For those people that must buy this particular bookcase, I would recommend to them to actually buy two of them. That way, you can use the good parts to assemble one bookcase and then return the bad parts as the second bookcase. If you have Amazon Prime shipping, then this suggestion would not add extra shipping costs to your order. I would not pay more than $15 for this item.
