Customer Review: Soft and sweet! A little wobbly & other minor quirks.

My only gripe with this beautiful plush meerkat is that it's a little "wobbly." You would think that, being in a sitting position, it would be perfectly stable, but the bottom is slightly rounded and uneven, and the animal must be pressed down hard onto whatever surface it's on for it to stay where you want it to. I also don't like that the two front paws are sewn together, although that's easily fixed with a pair of thin scissors.
Otherwise, the plush quality is very good! The meerkat is soft and looks adorable, with his head perked up and tilted slightly to one side as in the characteristic alert pose we've come to love. Beautiful brown eyes and quality hard-plastic black nose. The tail's a little flimsy (whereas "real" meerkats use it to balance themselves) but it's a very forgivable mishap.
Overall, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite collector's items. For the price, then, it can't be beat. I'll probably buy the 12" version too!

As a meerkat fan and a school principal, I had to select the meerkat as our mascot. Of all the meerkat plushes, this has become my favorite. At first, I thought his mouth made hime look sad, but perhaps he's just contemplative. I took him to Hawaii for a family vacation and began taking pictures of him at famous spots. My students loved it, and now he is on a trip around the world with various students. We'll see how durable he is now! His adventures are online at [...]. The next pictures to be posted will be from Las Vegas and Australia. The kids love him and are learning all about meerkats and all the places our mascot travels. This was just as cute as a ferret, not really a toy for little kids under the age of 6, or maybe if you don't mind the cute little things getting dirty and messy. It feels delicate and "stiff to movement" unlike a teddy bear's arms and legs, stitching becomes loose or apart easily. They are very unique like a soft fluffy still 3D picture of a real animal. My children love to collect them and do play with them but are gentler with them then they are with their other stuffed animal toys... Over all and for the price I still would buy them.
