Customer Review: The Best Phaser under $100 EVER!

I love movie props and Star Trek props even more, I had heard a lot about this one and figured it would cost forty or fifty bucks. But for a Phaser 1 & 2 that separate and function for under twenty bucks, IMPOSSIBLE! But yet this is one of the best Trek toys ever. Now mind you it's not a collector's quality item, but they got every detail right! From the Phaer 1 fire button on the bottom to the rotating dial for phaser settings. I LOVE THIS TOY!
Not for small kids, but if your a collector that loves Star Trek items, and have wanted to get a great prop that you can handle and not just leave on the shelf, with sounds and lights, you shouldn't pass this one up! If you can't afford a Richard Coyle phaser then this one is for you!
Keep up the great work Art Asylum, I can't wait to see their take on the Communicator and Tricorder.
Customer Review: Finally, a realistic-looking, low-cost phaser

Star Trek original series fans have had few options for obtaining a realistic-looking phaser. Classmates made a version that was not full-size. Collectors versions can be great, but are very expensive. Now, Art Asylum has produced a plastic toy that is full-size, extremely faithful to the original prop, and very well engineered. The phaser 1 detaches and reattaches to the phaser 2 body very securely. The sounds are reasonably faithful to the original, although they could be a bit louder. The emitter in front has some nice light effects. Yes, this is a toy, and only plastic. It is not collector quality. But for the price, it's very cool. For under $20.00, the Star Trek nut (like me) can't go wrong with this phaser.Customer Review: Original Series Phaser Faithfully Reproduced

The TOS Phaser 2 from Art Asylum is very true to the originalones seen on TV. It has a separable phaser 1, with five variable
power setttings, each with different sound and light effects.
It even has an Overload setting!
Size wise, it seemed to be small at first, but by doing a
comparision with photos from the series (and knowing I am
taller than Mr. Shatner), the scale is just right!
The only drawback I found was the release pin for the phaser 1
is stiff, and potentially could very easily snap off.
Other than that, the workmanship is outstanding, and, of
course, Amazon.com offered the best price anywhere!
Most Highly recommended for TOS fans ! A Must for collectors!

Art Asylum has outdone itself with this classic phaser. Unlike past prop toys which were the wrong scale or had bad sound fx, this phaser toy is everything a big boy like myself could ask for. The price ([$$$] on average) is astounding considering the fact so many other "master replicas" or "limited editions" are going for outlandish amounts. My only gripe is the fact these things are flying off the shelves so fast, you often have to get on a waiting list for months just to get new ones. Like so many other reviewers, I too hope Art Asylum soon comes out with a classic communicator and tricorder to compliment the set.Customer Review: Fun for 40 year olds!

I'm amazed how thrilling it is to carry this thing around the house and shoot at my kids. As a 70's elementary school Star Trek fan, I always wanted a toy phaser. My dreams have come true! Now I just have to figure out how to take it away from my 5-year-old son. (I think I'll need two more: one for him and one to bring to the office.)No matter how old you are, if you ever wanted a phaser, BUY THIS. It's very well constructed, sized for adult hands (though fine for kids), looks and sounds authentic (surprisingly good detail), you'll love to hold it, and it'll just look cool sitting on your kitchen counter!
