Toys and Games Reviews of Alex Paint in the TubCustomer Review: A Real Winner! Summary: 5 Stars
Do you have trouble getting your little one to take a bath? If you do this product may well be your salvation. Once the
little one is in the tub and is given their paints the skies the
limit. How much fun is it for them to paint on the walls, on themselves and everything they see? We may never know, but
just try to stop them. This maybe a drawback as they seem to want
to use the colors up in one sitting they are having so much fun.
I agree with the others, the colors could be a little darker, but the children seem to see them fine, perhaps these old eyes are the problem. :0)
This is a winner.....recommended.
Customer Review: Doesn't work as advertised Summary: 2 Stars
A lot of people who like this product seem to be using a paintbrush. I'll have my 2-year-old son try that tonight to see how it works. But as for using fingers, forget it. The paint is a slippery jelly that does not adhere to the walls or tub, and once mixed with water it becomes to faint to see. The only real fun he had was smearing a ton of paint on the back of the fish sponge and scrubbing the walls.
There might be some potential here, but to see his excitement dashed as the product just didn't work was really disappointing. If the paintbrush doesn't help, were sticking to tub crayons.
Customer Review: Completely Disappointed Summary: 2 Stars
This is NOT paint, it is soap. Which would be fine if it had some kind of paint-like consistancy, but it does not. The picture on the box is totally misleading, because it shows a shower wall with all kinds of things drawn in brght, bold colors... and this is impossible with the "paints" in this set. The soaps colored the bath water nicely, but that's about all, had not even the decency to make bubbles to play with. We were both sad because we'd been so excited about this gift to our two year old, and he played with it for about a minute before getting frustrated and opting for something else.
Customer Review: My 2 year old LOVED this product! Summary: 5 Stars
I dind't know if I'd ever get him out of the tub! He did have a little trouble getting enough paint on his fingers, so I got his paintbrush, and that worked better. The yellow was a little hard to see, but they smelled great! He painted all the walls, then himself, and begged for more! When I told him we were saving some for later, he had fun washing off the walls with the fish-sponge. Then he played with the fish for a while pretending to catch it and cook it. To sum it up, when the bath was over, he clapped his hands and said "Mommy, I LOVE my tub paints!"
Customer Review: Concept sounded good.... Summary: 1 Stars
but the quality is lacking on this product. Spending a little time browsing for interesting tub toys to entice my then15 mo into the tub, I found this set. Unfortunately, this toy wasn't a winner. The "paint" is more like slightly-tinted shampoo (same consistency and level of opaqueness) which makes "painting" very unsatisfying. My son spent a few minutes playing with the fish sponge-- that's been the extent of it. A better alternative has been the foam alphabet letters (several months playing and still going strong) and plastic containers for pouring water-- who knew?
