You can't even read "Jane Austen Action Figure" and not giggle to yourself! This is sort of Accoutrements, Inc.'s point.
I own the "Leonardo da Vinci Action Figure" and plan to add a few more to my collection.
No, I am not a collector of action figures, but these simply add personality to your desk or car (my Davinci Doll has been mounted on the dash of my car for years). They tell people something about your personality. In my case, I am a college student studying Engineering and Philosophy, and have been an artist for years (I owe my late father for this, he was a Medical Doctor and graduated with degrees in Philosophy and Marine Biology, his genes gave me the ability to be left-minded AND right-minded: Science and Literature, Math and Art, etc.). Naturally Leonardo da Vinci is a hero of mine.
Another friend of mine is the Executive Conductor of Fort Wayne, Indiana's own Philharmonic Orchestra. He is an avid opera fan. He has the "Wilhelm Richard Wagner Action Figure" and it sits in a place of honor on his bookshelf, infront of his music books.
My SISTER, however, loves all things English. Jane Austen is one of her favorite authors. I gave her this figurine as a complement to a leather-bound "Seven Novels by Jane Austen" book reviewed by me elsewhere at Amazon.Com. SHE COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING when she opened it! It still graces her bookshelf or her desk, where she uses it to inspire her studies in World History and Women's Studies. As I said, it tells people about your personality.

I purchased this item because I am a teacher and I wanted to put a collection of literary figures on my desk. Shortly after taking the figure out of the box (literally, within minutes) a colleague was looking at it and went to raise the figure's left arm. She did not apply unnecessary pressure but the figure snapped in half. When I looked at the broken midsection, I noticed that the top and bottom were held together by less than 1/8" diameter semi-circle of plastic (an amount slightly larger than the largest part of a toothpick). I feel that the design could be improved greatly. As Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors, I am dissappointed that so little attention was paid to the design- especially since she is known for her great attention to detail. Really a cute product for the Jane Austen fan. I had ordered this for a friend as a gift, and then ordered a second one for myself. I was disappointed at the quality of the paint job. There was missing paint and chips on it. The person that shipped it out did not check product quality before boxing it for shipping. Since it was under $10 it wouldn't be worth sending it back for replacement on shipping cost. If you order this - I wouldn't count on it for a gift as you may get one that has a bad quality paint job.Customer Review: Fun doll for Jane Austen Readers

I purchased this doll for my dear friend who reminded me to re-read one of our old favorite college books, "Pride and Prejudice". After thrity years it was great to read something so warm and comfortable. The doll was adorable and came in cute packageing. She loved it. We didn't play with it. She sat Jane on her desk next to her Homer Simpson figure and she is hoping her friends at work will view her as well rounded. Buy this doll, it is inexpensive but shows you care to an Austen fan!Customer Review: Action-packed Writing Fun for All

I bought this doll for a friend of mine who is a huge Jane Austen fan, and it's adorable. I love that it's an action-figure - and that writing can be considered an action (as someone currently writing a dissertation, it's nice to think that those endless hours might be considered "action").
This toy is pretty much all you could possibly ask for in a plastic action figure of an author. Though I would love to see her battle Shakespeare or Joyce...
