I'm giving this 3 stars because it does what it advertises. Package contains 12 hard plastic stars and one large hard plastic moon that glow in the dark. Comes with adhesive stickers that can be applied to stick items to walls/ceiling.
Here's where I was disappointed. First, the adhesive doesn't stick well. You'll need to get double sided tape or glue. But once you have the correct adhesive, the kit is easy to set up and does glow nicely. Second, for the price, I would have expected more. Maybe throw in some additional stars, or make the stars/moon with adhesive backing already on them. It just wasn't worth the money.
As an alternative, I'd suggest these: MILKY WAY GLOW STICKERS. These are glow in the dark star stickers. I used these in college and they last forever. There are 200 of them for almost half the price. They are easy to apply and repositionable. Way better value for the money.

My 5 year old is scared to sleep in his room at night so I suggested we put up glow in the dark stars and moon, he loved the idea. He got this for Christmas and loved it. I let him play with the stars and moon for a while before adding the stickers so that he wouldn't try to take them off the wall. We just put them up last night and they glow really well. He was able to put them on the all by himself and we all know that is so important to a young child. I put the tape on the back and he positioned them in his room. We put all the stars on the wall but he decided he wanted the moon on the ceiling. All have stayed in place so far. Save extra tape for the moon because it is the biggest. Overall I am very pleased with this product and thought the cost was affordable.Customer Review: DOES NOT STICK - LOSES GLOW AFTER 1 HOUR

This product comes with a tiny little pouch of putty to adhere the stars and moons to the ceiling. First of all, they do not provide you enough putty. The reason being is that you need more "than a tiny amount" as the packaging says because the stuff doesn't stick. After using only 2 tiny pieces of putty per star...it left me with about 7 stars with no putty - wasted. 30 minutes after my daughter goes to bed, she's calling my name because a star has fallen down onto her bed.
To make matters worse, after an hour of being in the dark, the glow goes away.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! This product is poorly made.

We love this glowing moon and stars! Our son is 20months old and sometimes doesn't want to go to sleep. We stuck these on a mirror across from his crib and every night we told him soon you will see the glowing moon and stars. When we turn off the lights, we can hear him saying "wow, moon, stars" for about 3min before he goes to sleep. That is worth any amount of money, much less $12. Just use double sided tape and they stick fine. Totally worth every penny!Customer Review: amazingly bright, so-so adhesive

The kids love them. They are nicely bright: you can see them immediately after turning off the light, no waiting for your eyes to adjust. The only disappointment is the adhesive which does not work all that well. You might also want to check out Great Explorations Celestial Super Kits - Wonder Stars Super Kit which does not contain a moon, but they stick better.
