Wherever they had this stored, it must have been with mothballs because the whip really stank when we opened the package and even after airing it outside for a couple days it still smelled. My son really loved it though and it looked good with this costume. Unfortunately it's starting to come unbound at the end so I don't think it will last that long.Customer Review: Not worth the money

Its ok but the leather is obviously fake and when the whip is folded for storage or wrapped up in a circle it can crack the woven leather like pieces and expose the middle. Customer Review: Crack-erjack whip!

Got this whip for a cowboy costume, had it a couple weeks before Halloween and got a lot of really awesome cracks out of it! The end of the whip eventually unraveled and the cracker fell off and I had to tape it back on, but I could still get some cracks out of it. Handle got a little flimsy after a while, but I think we were putting more strain on the whip than it was originally intended for. It will eventually fall apart, but mine lasted quite a while. We bought this whip for my son's Halloween costume - Indiana Jones. Within 2 days of playing with it (Halloween is still 2 weeks away), the end has unraveled. My son is very unhappy. We have now taped it (how tacky). It is a good looking whip, however it is not made to be used as the end will unravel. Very disappointing.
